MY FAVOURITE SPANISH WRITERS
Defreds
He is 36 years old and from Vigo, Spain. Defreds is the name used by the writer José Ángel Gómez Iglesias to sign both his literary work and his presence in social networks.
It is precisely through these networks that he has made himself known to the general public, especially on Twitter. There, in his @defreds account, the author has more than 320,000 followers.
He also maintains profiles on Facebook and Instagram, as well as the Defreds Socks blog, where he has published much of his material.
In 2015 his first book of poetry was published, almost by accident, a collection of his best texts, full of feelings and emotion, with which he achieved great success.
Since then he has published other works.
In each of his books he writes current poems about unconditional love, life as a couple, passion, lack of love, friendship, sweet moments, sadness, childhood, territories of affection, the dream of a better world, the conviction that love can do everything. The life of each and every one of us.
He is my favorite writer in this moment.
I am strongly recommend you to read his books, they are really nice. You can found the books in Internet freely in PDF version.
Miguel Delibes
He was born on October 17, 1920 in Valladolid, Spain.
He is one of the first figures of Spanish literature after the Civil War, for which he was recognized with many awards; but his influence goes even further, since several of his works have been adapted to the theater or have been taken to the cinema, being awarded in competitions such as the Cannes Festival.
I read at school “El Camino". It is the third novel by the writer and was published in 1950. It is set in rural post-war Spain.
In this novel the writer talks about different topics: nature, death, love, friendship, criticism of customs. . .
It tells the story of a boy, Daniel El Mochuelo (Daniel the Owl), who has to move to the city to attend high school.
One night before leaving Daniel will remember everything that has happened to him in this place, his friends, his adventures, and he will discover that his path is in that village, linked to what has been his life up to that moment.
Nostalgic realist novel through which we can learn that “we never know what we have until we lose it.”
Miguel de Cervantes
He was born in 1547 in Alcalá de Henares, Spain.
He was a Spanish novelist, poet, playwright and soldier.
He is considered the greatest figure in Spanish literature and is universally known for having written The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quijote of La Mancha (commonly known as Don Quijote), which many critics have described as the first modern novel and one of the best works of universal literature, as well as being the most published and translated book in history, after the Bible.
The plot of the book. Alonso Quijano is a poor hidalgo of La Mancha, who from so much reading of chivalry novels ends up going mad and believing himself to be a knight errant, naming himself Don Quijote of La Mancha. His intentions are to help the poor and disadvantaged, and to win the love of Dulcinea del Toboso, who is in fact a peasant woman named Aldonza Lorenzo.
The first outing he makes alone, but he returns home in a short time and decides to appoint Sancho Panza, one of his employees, as his squire.
Together they make the second outing, in which they live more than one adventure: Don Quijote sees and attacks some giants that in reality turn out to be windmills, confuses a flock with an army, has some disputes and manages to confront some lions.
Finally, after doing penance in a forest, he is captured by the priest and the barber of his village and taken home in a cage after being tricked into helping the alleged Princess Micomicona.
In the third and last outing, the most outstanding adventures are those of The Cave of Montesinos, where Don Quijote dreams a thousand wonders, the braying of Sancho Panza, and finally, Don Quijote's defeat by the Knight of the White Moon, which is why he retires to his home, where, after acquiring sanity again, he dies.
