1. Why did you decide to make EVS abroad?
There is many reasons, but the main are: I like to travel, meet new people and also i wanted
have experience which is live alone in abroad.
2. How did you choose this country and this Project? Why this one?
Actually i didn’t make choose before to come here. It was my only chance to make Evs in
between those days because of my passport I had special passport valid till my 25. So, I was
looking for project in abroad. Then also I was a member of one organization in my city.
Head of this organization offered me to make EVS in Gdansk. Then i thought why not?
3. Describe briefly your Project
The main task of my projects is to resolve generation conflict between youngsters and elderly
people;
- Giving Turkish classes to polish people;
- Preparing Turkish movie night and movie review with foreigner;
- Doing presentations about Turkey in Schools and to seniors;
- Preparing Cultural Event about Turkey;
- Doing English speaking clup with foreigners;
- Teaching traditional Turkish strategy and mind game Mancala to foreigners;
- Creation of workshops about theather with seniors;
- Creation of Posts for Social Media.
4. How many applications you sent before you have found your Project?
I sent a lot of applications, I don’t even remember how many, but to be honest in Turkey
they dont look your motivation, you just need to know person who can send you project.
5. How much time it took from the moment you decided to be volunteer till the
moment you start it?
I was getting ready about one day. That’s why i have been Europe before my Volunteering. I had idea about what I should take with me.
6. What was the biggest difficulty you have faced preparing to your Project?
Language barrier, Polish is the most hardest language I have ever seen. Some times it’s hard
to communicate with people.
7. What surprised you in this country?
Nothing actually there was all in my expectation.
8. What is the most beautiful place you visited during your EVS?
During my Evs I had travel around Europe. I had my EVS during winter. For instance when I was in Spain I felt like it was summer, so for me during my EVS the best place is Barcelona.
9. What can you advice to the people who wants to be EVS volunteers?
The project content is as more important that country in which the project will be hold. I would advise you to make your project in big citys. Then you can be part of a lot of events in town also it would be easy to make travel around.
