My Fırst month ın gdansk!
A month of my adventure in Poland has passed so fast. I have met great people, attended various events and workshops in our association, showed with my colleague how to cook traditional Turkish dishes in a cooking club, started learning new languages and had great time with my new flatmates and friend. I never thought Id adapt so quickly. My excitement has never decreased since the first day I arrived.
I think the volunteers who are hosted in the Morena Association do good things for the local society. So far I have prepared posters and promotion materials for activities, prepared presentation of my country and culture and set up a website. I enjoyed doing these things.
In my free time, I usually discover new places in the city (in Gdańsk). I like walking in the old town and around. Me and other volunteers from the Association are get along very well and become friends. It is fun to spend time together.
To summarize, I liked Poland and Gdańsk very much. Sometimes I want to stop the time. I think it will be difficult to leave after the end of the project, but now its too early to think about it. Still, I have a lot of time and work to do together with my team.
With Best Regards, Arif

my first presentation ın gdansk!
I made my first presentation about Turkey yesterday at a school in Gdańsk. I think it was very enjoyable. I was very happy to see the smiley faces of Polish students during and at the end of the presentation. My primary goal was to keep the students' attention on the presentation screen. And I think I did it with a funny slides which I used for presentation.
Frankly, I have done presentation many times before. I have a big experience in doing presentations, but I think this one was the most exciting for me. I didn’t excite like this when I did presentation front of my University professor. It was the first time I did a presentation in a different language and abroad :) But everything was extremely enjoyable.
Also, there were many students, who visited Turkey before. It was also great to talk to them, ask questions and fill their attention.
I would say that the school and classroom environment in Poland is very similar as in Turkey it is very similar.
During this presentation, of course I learned a few things. I also learned that some of our culture and habits are similar and some are very different. For example, our passion for football is very similar. However, our culture of hospitality is a little different. I will try the dishes recommended by the students as soon as possible 😊
Exploring these cultural differences make so much fun for me.
This was my first presentation in school in Poland, but it gives me a lot of fun, it was exciting and instructive. 😊
